At Elephant Refuge North America (ERNA), we provide the perfect place for retired elephants to regain their “elephantness” and develop loving bonds with other elephants and caregivers. Our 850-acre refuge has gentle rolling hills, lush pastures, dense forests, spring-fed lakes, creeks and streams for our elephant residents to discover as they please.
Sponsoring an elephant helps ensure we have everything we need to provide care and give them their best life ever – from sophisticated medical equipment to tools used for facility maintenance – and so much more.

MEET OUR ELEPHANTS
Bo is a captive-born, castrated, Asian male elephant and former circus performer. He was born January 22, 1987 and retired to ERNA on September 23, 2021.
Mundi is a wild-caught, African savanna female elephant. She lived alone for nearly 35 years at the Puerto Rico Zoo. She retired to ERNA on May 12, 2023.
Tarra is a wild-caught, Burmese female who has lived in a sanctuary setting for the past three decades. Tarra arrived at ERNA on November 18, 2021.
