Theme: Healing is not linear.
Description: The path to healing is not a straight line for humans or elephants. Just like a river, it twists and turns, sometimes flowing gently and other times crashing against obstacles. In both cases, progress isn’t always steady; it’s marked by setbacks and unexpected detours. Humans can deal with emotional scars, while elephants also bear the weight of their past, whether from trauma, loss, or captivity. Yet, they persist, adapting to life’s currents, finding solace in each sunrise, and reminding us that healing is a shared journey, full of resilience and hope.

About the Artist: Maritza Curet from Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, used a natural stone as a canvas to highlight the desire for Mundi's freedom ("Mundi Libre"). The name "La Piedrita de Mundi" (Mundi's Little Stone) was created to raise social awareness to liberate all the captive animals of the closed Puerto Rico Zoo.
