What: Full-Time Lead Elephant Caregiver
Where: Elephant Refuge North America, Attapulgus, GA.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise the maintenance of female Asian or African elephants in a multi-hundred-acre habitat
- Train and supervise Elephant Caregivers in Compassionate Elephant Care
- Supervise behavioral data collection and record-keeping
- Supervise all cleaning procedures
- Supervise Food preparation
- Supervise, train, and participate in behavior conditioning
- Construction
- Facility maintenance
- Intern and volunteer training and supervision
Skills and Knowledge
- Minimum of 2 years of elephant care experience
- Physically fit and able to lift 65 lbs
- Possess a strong work ethic
- Have a progressive attitude toward captive elephant welfare
- Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work unassisted
- Must be mechanically inclined
- Energetic and excited to work for a unique, mission-driven organization

What: Part-Time Maintenance Person
Where: Elephant Refuge North America, Attapulgus, GA.
Description: Responsible for regular maintenance; minor repairs of facility fences and structures; general upkeep of small equipment such as mowers, UTVs and ATVs; and weed abatement along fence lines at Elephant Refuge North America while maintaining a safe environment for the staff and resident elephants and other animals.
